Travelling is one of my absolute favourites, let it be for business or leisure. With the American lottery hype that had been going on the past months I constantly caught myself dreaming about all the places in the world I could instantly visit with those millions. For the past 4 years most of my flights have taken me to London or Berlin due to my studies and work, so having the right technology to make these short but endless trips (and stays!) more pleasant has become inevitable. After years of practice I can say I have perfected my carry-on packing skills and reduced my technological necessities to a very useful minimum. Have a little read and let me know what your favourites are.

My DSLR is the newest addition to my travel set. Once you’ve taken pictures with a dslr you know how to use, you will constantly be disappointed with iPhone pictures. Although it’s heavy, it’s so worth carrying around to never miss a good shot ever again.

My iPad and an extra sleeve are always with me. Let it be for working on the blog, reading a book or simply watching movies, my iPad has become my computer-to-go. Although I already have a robust leather case for it, I like to always take an extra sleeve for protection, in case I want to carry it around without taking my purse.

An adapter I admit isn’t necessary for every country, but for travelling between London and Berlin it’s crucial. I couldn’t count the amounts of times I’ve forgotten to take one with me but nowadays it’s one of the first things in my bag.

My Olloclip iPhone Lens (HERE) is a good substitute for days or situations that make it impossible to take my dslr. It doesn’t increase the quality of the photos but gives me more creative options than the simple iPhone camera. The 4-ind-1 lens comes with a wide angle, fish eye and two macros so there is a bit of leeway for creativity.

My headphones I don’t always take with me to be honest. However, I prefer to take them on long haul flights as they are less harsh on my ears. These Philips headphones in particular are very practical for travelling as they are foldable and have a special cord which doesn’t tangle up.

The Luggage Scale has been a life saver so many times. Let it be hand luggage or a 25kg suitcase, most places I have traveled to didn’t have a scale. Especially when you love to go shopping abroad having a luggage scale can help you avoid expensive airport fees.

A power bank has quickly become the most useful thing I ever bought for travelling. This one is quite big with a capacity of 20,000 mAh which lasts for 10 charges, it includes a flashlight and has two USB ports so you can always help out a friend in need or charge two devices at once.

A USB key chain is always with me, wherever I go. It might not be essential for everyone, but I often use it to get photos or files from friends when they are too big to send via email.

I definitely need to think about an extra sleeve for my iPad. As you already said it’s really useful if you don’t want to take any bag with you. I really need to think about that. Thanks Susi *best tip ever*
