When I noticed that brown nail polish was becoming a trend this autumn I couldn’t have been more excited to create this post. I have loved (and collected) brown nail polished for a few years now always trying to find the perfect shade. Unfortunately that can prove to be extremely difficult if the colour isn’t a current trend as no brand will actually offer a variety.
So in search for the perfect mixture of grey and light brown (also called Greige, which I refuse to use) I went out to buy 2 new shades to add to my collection. Currently I have 8 browns but some of them are just too bad or too similar to others, that I decided to pick out my 5 favourites to show to you. Ironically I still haven’t found the perfect shade but I am quite happy with the ones I have for now :)
H&M Dust & Diamonds: Believe it or not, after years of trying different brands, from dirt cheap to almost €20 a bottle H&M nail polishes have remained among my favourites. They offer beautiful colours, dry extremely quick, and only need 1 layer! Now this one is old but they currently have similar brown shades here.
Rimmel Beige Babe 397: Another favourite of mine are Rimmel nail polishes. They last ages and dry super quick. You do need 2 layers with this one, but they are quickly applied without streaks. This one isn’t too old yet so you can still buy it here.
Astor Taupe 505: I love the colour of this one, but it’s a pain to apply. Two layers are definitely necessary and even then it might still be streaky. In Germany you can buy it here.
Astor In a Mountain Chalet 503: This one also has a bit of grey to it, unfortunately it also appears a bit purple. Two layers required again, and when finished you get a really dark result which looks nothing like the bottle. The colour itself is nice but obviously not what I bought it for. Again, in Germany you can buy it here.
Basic: Now this one is so old that I unfortunately don’t remember where I got it from. It was very cheap, only requires 1 layer and gives you the most beautiful dark chocolate brown. Despite my search for lighter ‘greige’ tones this will be on my list of favourites until it’s empty.
