Apologies for not posting anything last week. My life has gotten crazy busy with moving to London and starting a new job. I am however excited to share with you this very simple and quick tutorial to make your own cropped raw hem mom/boyfriend jeans without having to spend loads of money to follow this current trend.
All you need is an old pair of jeans, fabric scissors, and a pair of nail scissors. I simply used my mom’s old pair of jeans from the 80s. It’s high waist, beautifully light and of incredible quality! These days the same money certainly won’t buy you half the quality it did back then. I’ll be sure to include them in an outfit post soon so you can have a closer look at the final result.
The first step is simply cutting off your jeans to your desired length. I’d recommend starting with a longer length, and going shorter bit by bit and trying them on in between every cut. This way you can really make sure you’re not ending up with an awkward length, having wasted a good pair of jeans.
Starting on the side, use your nail scissors or a needle to pull out 3 or 4 rows of white thread to create a fringe look. It takes quite some time, but it’s worth it in the end. Give it a try!
